The Land

The Talis vineyards are nestled amidst a luscious landscape cradled by the sea and sheltered by the Julian Alps, a terrain of lush and verdant hills that descend gently towards the sunny plains; this land, bordered by Austria and Slovenia, is called Friuli. Talis takes its name from the Friulian word for “dandelion”, which spreads its bright green, yellow and white carpet between the rows of vines the cling to the hillsides, one of the most characteristic features of this green and pleasant land. This corner of Friuli is blessed by a sea breeze that blows across the land from daylight to dusk and by an easterly wind that punctually announces its resence at nightfall: ideal conditions for producing healthy and fragrant fruit

The People

A joint-venture of six independent micro-growers spearheaded by the ambitious Mauro Cencig, Talis is inspired by the dream of continuing the time-honoured wisdom of generations of Friulian winemakers. Here, a love of the land and homage to the ancient traditions of Friulian viticulture merge to produce white and red wines that capture and embody the aromas, spirit, and essential character of this very special land. Thanks to the expertise employed in the vineyards there is minimal intervention in the wine cellar. The fermentation process is achieved using traditional methods complimented by the most advanced oenological knowledge; vinification is carried out in steel at controlled temperatures.

The Wines

Sauvignon IGT Venezia Giulia
Straw yellow in colour with green highlights and a touch of effervescence.
Bouquet of sage, mint, and fresh peaches leads to a lean, elegant palate. Fresh and lively in the mouth with a lingering finish. Beautiful balance on the palate with distinctive, fresh aromas.
“This expression of Sauvignon offers very nice richness in the mouth thanks to its creamy density and medium structure. The aromas, instead, recall peach, apricot, yellow rose and honey. Pair this wine with chicken tandoori” 87/100 Wine Enthusiast
Friulano DOC Grave
Light gold in colour, it has a complex nose with notes of linden flowers, dandelion, millefiori honey and citrus fruit. Left in the glass, it also develops hints of biscuit. It is creamy, yet light and velvety in the mouth with a slightly saline finish.
