We are very happy to introduce a new producer to our growing portfolio: Castello Carboncine.
Situated in the Silea area of Treviso in between the mountains and Venice lagoon, Castello Carboncine has been producing quality wines for quite some time – wines that in the old days where transported to Venice using the adjacent Silea River.
Lead by the talented sisters Isabella and Susanna Bellio Manera, Castello Carboncine offers exciting takes on international varieties by re-introducing old -and sometimes forgotten- clones historically used in the Treviso area since the 15th century.
From a Merlot ‘dal peduncolo rosso’ (a rare Merlot clone with red stalks that is still baffling the DOC inspectors – hence the IGT denomination) to centuries old local varieties of Riesling and Malbec all the way to their main wine: the outstanding Carboncine Riserva.
